Angel of the Storm is about the incredible relief workers who left their homes and families to come, often without pay, and help us here on the coast. On another level, it points to the reality of broken spirits as well as shattered lives. Katrina robbed us of much more than our houses. The plaster angel has been mounted on a heavy brass platter that was crushed by the immense power of the storm. Two crosses further the spiritual theme while broken plywood, ripped fabric, battered plywood and stained grass mats comprise the rest of the piece. 30" x 40"
