SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE NEW "PORTALS" BODY OF WORK! The Katrina Collection is a series of mixed media assemblages which incorporate storm debris from Hurricanes Katrina and Gustav. There are approximately 1000 pieces in the collection to date, so most of the pieces are in the archives, located on the right hand side of the poage-just scroll down a little bit.
Five Virgins. Finding this old cloth-covered, padded photograph album was one of those moments of pleasure that you don't forget for awhile. I affixed a salvaged fleur de lis to the front, and went to work on the inside. The surface is covered with found papers and washes of acrylic paint. The photo on the left is of a beautiful statue I found on my travels through Italy, and the small Guadalupes in their niches were fashioned from polymer clay. 8" a 10" x 3" closed.
