My Heart is on the Coast is about the people who have not been able to return home. I know many of them, and I can only imagine the homesickness they endure. The piece is made from two scrap pieces of plywood, a piece of sheet copper, some rusty nails, a rusty chain and padlock that I found in the woods behind m hme, and a small metal box with a fragment of a necklace I had in my studo.
